从10月初，肯特咨询就开始协助同学们申请加州大学系统的学校。由于加州大学的申请截止日期是11月30日，现阶段申请者们正在与肯特咨询进行提交前的最终检查。
包括美国一流名校伯克利、洛杉矶分校在内的九所加州大学系列学校，并不使用“公共申请”平台，而是应用自己独立的申请系统。其申请要求简洁明了：网上申请、短文撰写及提交SAT/ACT成绩即可完成。在申请阶段，学生不需要递送推荐信及成绩单，但是要在申请系统里自己填写在校学习的科目及成绩。然而，学生在被录取且决定入学后，则需要提供官方成绩单。
在选校和选专业阶段，肯特咨询向客户交付一份明细的列表，表明加州大学各个学校的排名、专业等重要信息。此外，肯特咨询还引荐加州大学伯克利的校友为学生提供申请方面的咨询。作为例行的工作，肯特咨询为申请者提供在线申请、修改文章及申请跟进等服务。

Starting from early October, KCG has been assisting students on application to the schools under University of California (UC) system for almost two months. As the deadline of UC application is Nov. 30th, the applicants are now busy with the final check before submission with the confirmation of KCG.
Different from some top tier schools which employ the Common Application as an admission platform, UC adopts a unique application system just for its nine campuses including some decent schools such as UC Berkeley and UCLA. The application is very straightforward: online application with 2 essays plus SAT / ACT test score delivery would be completed, since UC does not require any recommendation letters, even no official transcript at the application stage. Nevertheless, applicants are required to self-report their school works and grades in the online application. The official transcript will be required once the student is admitted and decides to be enrolled.
For selection of schools and majors, KCG delivered an informative list of schools with ranking, popular majors and other important data, and involved Berkeley alumni in counseling on application. As routine practice, KCG assists applicants on online application, essay revision and follow up actions.

SAT与ACT都是申请美国本科学校的标准考试。如果想被名牌大学录取，考取一个有竞争力的SAT或ACT分数是必要的条件。据维基百科统计，ACT主要在美国中部、落基山区及南部地区流行，而SAT在美国东西海岸比较普遍。但是近几年，ACT也逐渐在东海岸普及起来。
时间分配是取得考试成功的关键。虽然通常来说，ACT相对SAT难度较小，然而极其有限的时间从整体上增加了ACT考试的难度。平均到每个问题上，ACT考生仅有不到一分钟的时间，而SAT考生则有至少一分钟的时间。

此外，根据《普林斯顿评论》，ACT和SAT考试对于考察内容有着不同的侧重点。
1. ACT考试的题面更好理解，而在SAT中，考试可能需要花点时间理解题目问的是什么；
2. SAT考试着重强调词汇量；
3. ACT考试包含一门科学科目，而SAT并无相关考察；
4. ACT的数学考察的范围更广，包含代数I、代数II、几何及三角学；
5. 一般来说，对于提交SAT成绩的学生，大学招生委员会更加关注各分项考试的成绩，而对于提交ACT成绩的学生，委员会则关注整体分数。

Both the SAT and the ACT are the standard tests for school placement in the United States. Applicants who aim to attend a decent college must achieve a satisfactory score on either SAT or ACT. According to the Wikipedia, the ACT is more widely used in the Midwestern, Rocky Mountain, and Southern United States, while the SAT is more popular on the East and West coasts. But recently, the ACT is becoming popular on the East Coast as well.
Time is a major factor to consider in testing. Even the ACT is normally considered as easier than the SAT, but the time allotted to complete each section increases the overall difficulty. On average, the ACT takers usually have less than one minute per question while the SAT takes have at least one minute per question.
In addition, according to the Princeton Review, ACT and SAT test students from different perspectives.

1. The ACT questions are often easier to understand on a first read. On the SAT, you may need to spend time figuring out what you're being asked before you can start solving the problem;
2. The SAT has a stronger emphasis on vocabulary;
3. The ACT has a Science section, while the SAT does not;
4. The ACT tests more advanced math concepts, including algebra I and II, geometry, and trigonometry.
5. The admission committee usually evaluates the SAT takers by section scores while considers ACT takers by a composite score.
