Where do you go for your junior high school, high school, college and graduate study? When is the best time for your overseas study?
In China, the conventional wisdom on education access is limited to domestic education, from primary school, junior high school, undergraduate study to graduate study. Education and career choices are spontaneous results from local resources, neither a well planned nor a well implemented process on a global basis. However, with the development of Chinese economy and the globalization, more and more Chinese families are considering their children's education strategy on a global basis. Studying in foreign countries such as USA, UK and Canada, is becoming a trend. Nevertheless, which country is the best choice has been a baffling decision. Meanwhile, the timing and age to send the child abroad are also perplexing decisions. There are four options: sending children abroad to study from: 1. junior high school, 2. high school, 3. university, 4. graduate school. Each has its pros and cons. KCG is the private consulting firm for the education and career preparation for the next generation of leaders from accomplished families.

Overall Evaluation
Before we can help our clients on educational planning, we will do an overall evaluation on their personal and family profiles. In order to fulfill this goal, we need detailed information from clients in terms of academic performances (performance in school, ranking, GPA, evaluation from school, teachers, AP, or IB, or other courses taken in school, academic interests, awards, research, or papers published etc.), representative extracurricular activities, talents in sports, music, art, any awards or honors won in these areas and personal characters and qualities like curiosity, creativity, leadership, team work etc. Interviews with parents, teachers, and classmates will also be used to fully understand a client. Formal overall evaluation report will be carefully prepared on reflecting our assessment on client's profile in viewing future educational path and goal.

Comparison of Different Routes
In comparison with western education system, Chinese education system has its own advantages and disadvantages. This is particularly true when we look at our education path as a whole.For instance, Chinese education, especially in secondary school stage, emphasizes more on knowledge delivery and problem solving skill training, aiming at achieving high scores in tests. In contrast, western education aims at overall training and development on students' talents, from academic interest, craft skill like carpentry, cooking, music, arts like studio performance, to social knowledge like economics etc.Given our client's background, profile and subjects, we will study the options and recommend one or two education paths which we believe satisfy our customer's demand best. As general information, a study of in comparison of four countries, China, UK, Canada and USA, at different education stage from elementary, secondary to college and graduate, will be provided.

Planning
Planning on education path is a critical and complicate task. There are many important elements we take into consideration. Given the different stages of education, each education system has its pros and cons in terms of educational goals, philosophy, curriculum, extracurricular activities, etc. In addition, there are many more important issues you have to consider seriously, such as acceptance rate to top college, overall academic performance, safety, oversight, living condition, culture adaption, social networking, and finally financial cost. Together with parent and child, we work to optimize the outcome for our clients through careful planning.

Implementation
After a careful consideration of alternatives, we stay with our clients to provide continuous support in executing the strategy. Our office will nail down every detail from course selection in school, tutoring on specific subject or course, arranging extracurricular activities, setting up internship or volunteer opportunities, selecting schools, and applying to these schools. We treat the whole process as system engineering and manage it professionally as a “project”.
